In our dual purpose category, we’ve painstakingly preserved and improved upon classic American farmstead breeds. Our Buff Orpingtons, for example, come from a 20-year breeding program focused on enhancing both egg production (up to 220 large brown eggs annually) and meat qualities.The Sussex in our program maintain their legendary table qualities while now laying significantly more eggs than traditional lines. We’re particularly proud of our New England Red program – a carefully developed strain that combines excellent cold tolerance with outstanding production in both eggs and meat.
